Internet addiction is one of the common problems among adolescents and young people, and annually causes irreparable damage to their health. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-awareness and personality traits with Internet addiction in Meshkin plain adolescents in Karaj.The present study was descriptive and correlated. The statistical population consisted of high school students of Meshkin Dasht of Karaj in 2017. 120 subjects were selected by cluster sampling. They included Internet addiction questionnaire, neo-factor five scale and self-awareness questionnaire, all of which had standard validity and reliability. They can respond The results of this study showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between online addiction and self-knowledge in students. There is a negative correlation between addiction to the Internet and the four attributes of extraversion, flexibility, consistency and conscientiousness. There is a significant relationship between addiction to the Internet and the psychological neuroticism of a positive and significant relationship. Also, the results of regression analysis showed that predictive variables in the four steps of regression of 0.44 of the variance of Internet addiction in students significantly. The present results support the importance of the characteristics of the five factors and self-awareness in predicting the Internet addiction in the students. Accordingly, the implementation of the program in this direction Workshop to increase self-esteem based on predictive variables is suggested.
