This study aimed to compare, cognitive distortions and difficulty in emotion regulation in students with and without pornography addiction. A descriptive research design was used and a causal-comparative method was implemented. The statistical population of the study included all male and female students of Guilan University of Rasht in the academic years 2019-2021. For this purpose, 296 students were selected based on cluster sampling according to the inclusion criteria. In this study, the Pornography Craving Questionnaire (PCQ; Krauss-Rosenberg, 2014), Cognitive Distortions Inventory (CDI; Beck, 2004), and Emotion Difficulty Questionnaire (ERQ; Gross, 2003) were used to collect data. Single and multivariate variances analyzed the obtained data. The results showed that there is a difference in the cognitive distortions and difficulty in emotion regulation in students with and without pornography addiction (P<0.05). Therefore, it can be said that there is a difference between cognitive distortions and difficulty in Emotion regulation in groups with and without pornography and this can help to explain Pornography in university students.
