Evolutionary approaches to psychopathology have progressed dramatically in recent years. In present paper, a general framework for the evolutionary analysis of psychological features is presented based on the strategies of life history theory. The present analysis focuses on the fast-slow strategies of life history and shows that individual differences in these strategies are effective in the formation of personality features and mental disorders. Also, four main pathways leading to mental disorders are mentioned
