Quarantine may cause psychological side effects. The aim of this study was to review the psychological effects of quarantine and how to reduce them (systematic study). Keywords of stress, anxiety, and quarantine were searched in electronic databases of national and international scientific Journals from the year 2005 to 2019. Most of the studied studies have reported negative psychological effects including post-traumatic stress symptoms, confusion, and anger. Some researchers have also shown long-term effects. According to the results of this study, it can be said that in cases where quarantine is considered necessary, the authorities must provide clear explanations for the quarantine to ensure people of providing sufficient resources. The presentation of educational protocols can slow down possible psychological damage.
