The aim of present study was to investigate the role of parenting styles and developmental functioning family in predicting depression in female students. Research type was descriptive - Correlation. Population of study includes all female students at Razi University of Kermanshah2014-2015 Academic year. The study population of include 6200female student.361 students were selected via cluster sampling method. Instruments were parenting styles (Baumrind, 1970), Developmental functioning family (aali& et al, 1392) and Depression (Beck, 1988).Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics; Pearson correlation and linear regression enter method. Correlation analysis explored that there is a significant negative relationship between of authoritative Parenting style and developmental functioning family with depression. Was not observed significant negative relationship between permissive & authoritarian parenting style with depression. The findings indicated that authoritative parenting style and developmental functioning family can predict ٪20 of variant of depression. Findings indicated the importance of authoritative parenting style and developmental functioning family in predicting depression in female student.
