Abstract:   (17 Views)
The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of emotional stability and experiential avoidance in the relationship between mindfulness and happiness in students. The research method was descriptive-correlational, using path analysis. The statistical population included students in Tehran in 2024. The sample size was estimated at 250 people and they were selected according to the inclusion criteria. The research tools included the Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory-Short Form (FMI-SF; Walach et al., 2006), Oxford Happiness Inventory (OHI; Argyle et al., 1989), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire (AAQ-II; Bond et al., 2011), and the NEO- Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI; Costa & McCrae,1992). Path analysis method was used to analyze the data. The study findings showed that the proposed model had a good fit. Mindfulness had a positive direct effect on happiness and emotional stability and a negative and significant effect on experiential avoidance (P<0.05). Emotional stability had a positive and significant direct effect on happiness (P<0.05). Experiential avoidance had a negative and significant effect on happiness (P<0.05). The results of the bootstrap test showed that emotional stability and experiential avoidance have a mediating role in the relationship between mindfulness and happiness (P<0.05). As a result, it can be stated that experiential avoidance and emotional stability have the ability to play a mediating role in the relationship between mindfulness and happiness.
