Abstract: (66 Views)
The present study aimed to predict social skills based on coping styles, beliefs, and self-differentiation in single-child university students. This research was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population consisted of single-child university students in Isfahan in 2024. Using a convenience sampling method, 370 students participated in the study. Data were collected using the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS-21; Endler et al., 1990), the Differentiation of Self Inventory (DSI-R; Skowron et al., 1998), and the Tromsø Social Intelligence Scale (TISS; Inderbitzen et al., 1992). Data analysis was performed using simultaneous multiple regression. The results of the simultaneous regression analysis indicated a significant relationship between social skills and coping styles as well as self-differentiation (p < 0.05), with approximately 18.1% of the variance in social skills predicted by coping styles and self-differentiation. It can be concluded that coping styles and the level of self-differentiation can play a significant role in predicting the social skills of single-child university students and explain a considerable portion of the variance in these skills.
