Abstract:   (18 Views)
The present study aimed to predict hoarding symptoms based on childhood trauma and maternal bonding among university students. The research employed a descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population consisted of students from Islamic Azad University of Mashhad during the 2023–2024 academic year, and a total of 370 participants were selected through convenience sampling. The instruments used included the Hoarding Questionnaire (HQ; Frost et al., 2004), the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ; Bernstein et al., 2003), and the Parental Bonding Questionnaire (PBQ; Parker et al., 1979). Data were analyzed using simultaneous multiple regression analysis. The results showed that childhood traumas and maternal bonding significantly predicted hoarding symptoms (p < .05), accounting for 17.9% of the variance. Overall, the findings suggest that childhood traumas and maternal bonding play a fundamental role in the hoarding tendencies of university students.
