Abstract: (70 Views)
The present study was conducted to assess the feasibility of a training package for subjective well-being to improve marital instability and marital burnout in couples at risk of divorce. The research method was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test design with a control group and a one-month follow-up. The statistical population included all couples applying for divorce in the city of Javanroud in 2024-2025, of which 32 were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (16 experimental and 16 control). The experimental group underwent 18 sessions of a 90-minute (1 session per week) of mental well-being training package. The Couple Burnout Measure (CBM; Pines & Nunes, 2003) and Marital Instability Inventory (MII; Booth et al., 1983) were used to measure dependent variables. Data analysis was performed using repeated measures analysis of variance. The results showed there was a significant difference at the 0.001 level between the pre-test and post-test of couple burnout and marital instability in the experimental and control groups, and there was also no significant difference at the 0.001 level between the post-test and follow-up mean in the experimental group, and the results were maintained in the follow-up period. Overall, it can be concluded that mental well-being training in couples is an effective approach to improving marital stability and marital boredom in couples at risk of divorce.
