Abstract:   (58 Views)
The present study aimed to predict identity crisis based on social capital and the generation gap among university students. The research design was descriptive-correlational, utilizing multiple regression analysis. The statistical population consisted of students studying at universities in Shiraz during the 2023-2024 academic year, from which 349 individuals were selected using cluster random sampling. The research instruments included the Identity Crisis Questionnaire (ICQ; Ahmadi, 2008), the Social Capital Questionnaire (SCQ; Sahami, 2008), and the Generation Gap Questionnaire (GPQ; Nabavi, 2003). Data were analyzed using simultaneous multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that social capital and the generation gap are significant predictors of identity crisis in students (p<0.05). Overall, social capital and the generation gap accounted for 17.3% of the variance in identity crisis. Therefore, it can be concluded that while social capital is associated with a decrease in identity crises, the generation gap is associated with an increase in identity crises. These two variables play a crucial role in explaining the variations in identity crisis among university students.
