Abstract

The aim of the present study was to predict empathy based on the Component's executive functions in children with attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder symptoms. The method of this study was descriptive and correlation. The statistical population included elementary school male students (ages 8 to 12 years) with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms in Tabriz in the academic year of 2019-2020, 120 children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms were selected by cluster random sampling. Multi-stage was selected using the Child Behavior Rating Scale (Swanson, Nolan & Pelham,1980). Strop test (Raydli, 1995), continuous performance test (Razveld, et al, 1996), and children's cognitive and emotional empathy scale (Dadss, et al, 2008) were used to collect data. The results of path analysis showed that response inhibition and sustained attention have a significant role in predicting cognitive and emotional empathy (P<0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that deficits in executive functions can lead to a lack of empathy in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms.

Social network (WhatsApp and Telegram) was provided to parents. Research data were analyzed through multiple regression. The findings showed that parental perfectionism and negative effect can positively predict parental burnout during coronary quarantine and positive effects negatively predict parental burnout during coronary quarantine. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that parental perfectionism and positive and negative effects can predict parental burnout during coronary quarantine in parents of primary school children.

Abstract

The present study aimed to determine the structural relationships between adverse childhood experiences and the symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder, with the mediating role of early maladaptive schemas. The descriptive-correlation research was based on path analysis. The statistical population of this research included the students of the University of Tabriz in 2022-2023 (24000 people) and the statistical sample included 354 people who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. To measure the variables, the childhood trauma questionnaire (CTQ, Bernstein et al., 2003), narcissistic personality inventory (NPI-16, Ames et al., 2006), and Young Schema Short Form Questionnaire (YSQ-SF, Young, 1999) were used and the path analysis method was used to analyze the data. Data analysis showed that sexual abuse had a direct effect on narcissistic personality disorder and an indirect effect through the mediation of impaired limits and Impaired autonomy and performance (p<0.05). Also, the results indicated that sexual abuse, emotional neglect, and physical neglect had a direct effect on Disconnection and rejection, and sexual abuse and physical neglect had a direct effect on Other-directedness (p<0.05). The results showed that the model had a good fit. Based on these findings, it can be stated that adverse childhood experiences through the mediation of early maladaptive schemas can predict changes in narcissistic personality disorder and explain its occurrence.
