This study aimed to use Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination revised (ACE-R) to diagnose and compare the cognitive impairment (CI) among patients with BBT and MBT after surgery. The population consisted of all patients with BBT and MBT who were treated in center of Supporting Organization (Mehraneh), a charity foundation for patient with cancer, during six months. 62 patients with BBT and MBT were recruited. ACE-R was used to evaluate patients. The findings showed that there was significant difference between patients with BBT and MBT in cognitive disruption. Also, results demonstrated there was significant difference between patients with brain tumors and healthy subjects in attention-orientation, memory, fluency, language, and visual-spatial ability (P < 0.001). Findings of this study revealed that although there was significant difference between patients with BBT and MBT, the patients with BBT experienced more than expectation problems in cognitive function. There were several factors which caused disabilities. This study suggested that the tools such as ACE may be used to evaluate patients for clinical activities.
