Aging is the end period of human life. Adaptability with this period considering the increasing the elderly population in the world especially in Iran is crucial. Thus, necessary efforts will be made to understand the aging period and the appropriate adaptability. The research objective was to investigate the adaptability components of couples in the aging to prevent the inadaptability at this period by making the necessary measures. The present study was the qualitative type and was performed by grounded method. The research population was the aging women and men in Khorramabad city. Twenty elder couples were selected using purposeful sampling, and needed data were collected by using the semi-structured exploratory interview method step by step.

The research findings include strategies for facilitating adaptability in the aging period. The strategies for facilitating adaptability in the aging period were reviewed in three dimensions: individual, social, and spiritual using specific sub-codes. Given the problems and issues of an older person, the attention of therapists and counselors to this process is significant and can be used in individual and group consultations.
