The present study was conducted with the aim of modeling the causality of domestic violence based on marital intimacy, restraint, and marital conflict. The method of descriptive correlational research was structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this research includes all the couples involved in domestic violence in Shiraz city in the years 2020 to 2021, who have experienced domestic violence against their women in a period of at least 6 months and at most 18 months. 222 couples were selected. 4 questionnaires were considered for each couple, the domestic violence questionnaire by Mohseni Tabrizi et al. (2013) by women and the questionnaires on marital conflicts by Thanai (2016), marital mediation by Amini et al. (2016) and Marital Intimacy by Bagaroozi (2001) by husbands. They were completed. Data analysis was done using structural equation modeling. The results indicated the fit of the general research model with the experimental data. The findings showed that marital inhibition and marital conflict predict domestic violence both directly and indirectly through marital intimacy (p<0.01). From the findings, it can be concluded that marital inhibition and marital conflict play a key role in predicting domestic violence, and counseling and psychotherapy clinics should pay more attention to these variables in reducing domestic violence.
