Abstract:   (240 Views)
The purpose of this research was to determine couple therapy based on acceptance and commitment on rejection sensitivity and sexual arousal symptoms of couples referring. The research method is a single-case experiment of the type of asynchronous multiple baseline designs. The statistical population of this research was all the couples with marital problems who were referred to Ahvaz counseling centers in 1401, and finally, 3 couples (6 persons) were selected as available. To collect data, the Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (RSQ, Branson et al., 2009), and Sexual Desire Scale (SDS, Halbert, 1992) were used. The treatment package (couple therapy based on acceptance and commitment) was applied to the participants in 12 sessions and 4 stages of the baseline the first follow-up of 45 days and the second follow-up of 3 months.  Data was analyzed with visual inspection, improvement percentage, and reliable change index strategies. The results of the analysis showed that the encounter of couple therapy based on acceptance and commitment has significantly reduced the sensitivity to rejection and increased the sexual arousal symptoms of couples clinically and statistically (p<0.05) and this effect has continued over time. Therefore, the use of this couple's therapy intervention can significantly reduce marital problems such as sensitivity to rejection, and on the other hand, by increasing the symptoms of sexual arousal, it can help improve couples' intimacy, especially sexual intimacy.
