Abstract: (20 Views)
The purpose of this research was to predict deviant behaviors based on childhood traumas and the source of external control in students. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The research community consisted of all boys and girls from 22 districts of Tehran in 2022-2023, from which 384 people were randomly selected as a sample. The tools of this research included Ayberg et al.'s deviant behavior questionnaire (1978, ECBI), Bernstein et al.'s childhood trauma (2003, CTQ), and Rutter et al.'s locus of control (1966, LCQ). The data analysis method was simultaneous regression analysis. The findings showed that childhood traumas and external control sources can predict deviant behaviors in adolescents (P<0.05) and in total 17.9% of the variance of deviant behavior. They explain that from the findings, it can be concluded that childhood traumas and external sources of control play an essential role in deviant behaviors in adolescents.
