Abstract: (44 Views)
The present study aimed to predict the differentiation of children based on the personality structure and dysfunctional attitudes of parents. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population included all parents who referred to counseling centers in Tehran and their children in 2021-2022. The sampling method was non-random and available, and 382 people were selected as a sample using the available sampling method. But finally, the data of 350 people were analyzed. To collect data from the short form of the self-differentiation questionnaire of Skowron and Friedlander (1988 DSI-SF), Costa and Neo-McCary's personality structure inventory (1985 NEO-FFI), and Wiseman and Beck's Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale (1978 DAS-26) were used. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the data. The findings showed that there was a significant relationship between the components of the personality structure and dysfunctional attitudes of parents with children's differentiation (P<0.05), and in total, they explain 56.3% of the variance of the children's differentiation variable (P<0.05). ). In general, it can be said that to promote self-differentiation, special attention should be paid to the role of parents' personality structure and their dysfunctional attitudes.
