Abstract: (49 Views)
The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between stress and parental burnout, with the mediating role of resilience in parents with teenage children. The present research method was the descriptive-correlation type of structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the research included all the parents of first and second-year high school students in Esfahan city in 2023, out of which 340 people were selected as a sample using the convenience sampling method. To collect data from the Parenting Stress Index- Short Form (PSI-SF; Abidin, 1990), Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA; Roskam et al., 2018), and Resilience Scale (CD-RISC; Connor & Davidson, 2003) were used. Data analysis was done by the structural equation modeling method. The results showed that the proposed model had a good fit and explained a total of 62% of the variance of parental burnout. The results showed that parental stress had a positive direct effect on parental burnout; But on the other hand, resilience had a negative direct effect on parental burnout. Also, the results showed that parental stress had a negative and significant direct effect on resilience (P<0.05). The results of the bootstrap test showed that resilience played a mediating role between parental stress and parental burnout (P<0.05). The results of this study indicated that parental stress had a direct effect on parental burnout, with a mediating role of resilience.
