Abstract: (16 Views)
The present study aimed to determine the role of alexithymia, cognitive distortion, and religious attitude in predicting sexual satisfaction of married women. The research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the study was all married women in Ardabil in 1402. From the mentioned population, 120 people were selected as a sample by random sampling. To collect data, Bagby et al.'s Alexithymia Questionnaire (TAS-20, 1994), Hamamci and Boyakazturk's Cognitive Distortion Questionnaire (ICDS, 2004), Khodayarifard et al.'s Religious Attitude Questionnaire (RAQ, 2000), and Yavari-Kermani and Bahrenian's Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ, 2009) were used. The research data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression methods in SPSS version 18 software. The results showed that there was a negative and significant relationship between mood and cognitive alexithymia and satisfaction, and a positive and significant relationship between religious attitude and sexual satisfaction in married women (p<0.05). Also, using stepwise regression, 0.53 of married women's sexual satisfaction was explained by changes in mood, cognitive distortion, and religious attitude (p<0.05). Considering the effect of women on alexithymia, cognitive distortions, and religious attitude on sexual satisfaction in affected women, it is suggested that psychologists and health professionals pay more attention to the role of these changes in improving satisfaction in married women.
