Abstract: (36 Views)
The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of group schema therapy on the differentiation and forgiveness of women with marital conflicts. The research method was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group. The statistical population in this study was all married female students with marital conflicts who referred to the counseling center of Islamic Azad University, West Tehran Branch, in 2023, of whom 40 people were selected through purposive sampling and were randomly assigned to two groups. To collect data, the questionnaires of Sanai Marital Conflict Questionnaire (MCQ, 1999), Skowron and Friedlander's Self-Differentiation (DSI, 1998), and Ehteshamzadeh et al.'s Interpersonal Forgiveness (IFI, 2011) were used, and the intervention based on Yang et al.'s group schema therapy was implemented in 8 two-hour sessions, twice a week, in a group for the experimental group. The multivariate covariance test (MANCOVA) was used to analyze the data. The research findings showed that by controlling the effect of the pretest, there was a significant difference at the 0.05 level between the mean of the posttest of self-differentiation and interpersonal forgiveness in the two experimental and control groups. As a result, group schema therapy can be considered an effective intervention for female students with marital conflicts.
