Abstract: (2407 Views)
The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of time perspective therapy on resilience and parental stress in mothers of children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group. The statistical population of this study included mothers of children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder in District 2 of Tehran in 2024. After a preliminary interview and based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 30 of them were selected purposively and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). The research measurement tools included the Connor and Davidson Resilience Scale (CD_RISC, 2003) and the Berry and Jones Parental Stress Scale (PSS, 1995). Time perspective therapy was administered to the experimental group in 8 group sessions, each session lasting 90 minutes once a week. The research data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance using The results showed that, after controlling for the pretest effect, there was a significant difference (P<0.01) between the posttest of the experimental and control groups in parental resilience and stress. Therefore, it can be concluded that perspective therapy is an effective treatment in improving parental resilience and stress in mothers of children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
