Abstract: (74 Views)
The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of schema therapy on couple identity and relationship orientation in women who had been cheated on. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design and a control group with a 2-month follow-up period. The research population included all married women aged 25 to 45 who referred to counseling and psychological services centers in Shahreza in 2024. 30 people from the statistical population were selected by the purposive sampling method and were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). The We Are in Couple Relationship Questionnaire (WCRQ, Cruz et al., 2013) was used to collect data. The participants in the schema therapy group received 10 sessions according to the protocol, but the control group did not receive therapy. Data analysis was performed using mixed analysis with repeated measures. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the groups in couple identity and relationship orientation at the post-test and follow-up (P<0.05). Since schema therapy creates couple identity and improves relationship orientation, it can be used as an effective intervention method to increase relationship orientation in betrayed women.
