Abstract:   (13 Views)
The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of feelings of inferiority and perceived social support in the relationship between psychological resilience and social network addiction among students. The present study was a descriptive-correlational structural equation modeling study. The research population consisted of all undergraduate students in Rasht in 2024, from whom 400 individuals were selected as a sample using convenience sampling. The tools of this study included the Internet Addiction Test (IAT; Young et al., 1998), the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC; Connor and Davidson, 2003), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS; Zimet et al., 1988), and the feeling of inferiority (Khodadadi and Bahrami, 2012). Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the proposed model had a good fit. The findings also showed that resilience, inferiority, and perceived social support had a significant direct effect on social network addiction. Additionally, resilience had a direct and significant impact on feelings of inferiority and perceived social support (P < 0.05). The results of the bootstrap test showed that feelings of inferiority and perceived social support play a mediating role in the relationship between resilience and social network addiction (P<0.05). In summary, it can be concluded that resilience had a direct and mediated effect on social network addiction through feelings of inferiority and perceived social support.
