Abstract: (20 Views)
The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and logotherapy based on Rumi's thoughts (LBRT) on psychological hardiness in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group with a follow-up period of 45 days. The statistical population of this study included all renal patients requiring hemodialysis services in Sari in 2024. 45 people were selected using the convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to three groups: experiment 1 (15 people), experiment 2 (15 people), and control (15 people). The Ahvaz Psychological Hardiness Inventory (AHI; Kiamarsi et al., 1999) was used to collect data. ACT, based on the Hayes and Strossall model and logotherapy, based on Rumi's thoughts, based on the model of Noruzi et al., were implemented in 8 sessions for the intervention groups as a group. Data analysis was performed using repeated measures analysis of variance. The findings showed that compared to the control group, the two interventions, ACT and LBRT, were effective in increasing psychological hardiness until the follow-up stage (P<0.05). The findings also showed that there was a significant difference between the two therapeutic interventions; in fact, the effect of LBRT on psychological hardiness was greater (P<0.05). Overall, it can be concluded that LBRT had a greater effect on psychological hardiness in hemodialysis patients than ACT.
