Abstract: (91 Views)
The present study was conducted to predict problem-solving based on interpersonal dependency and hope in patients who are candidates for open-heart surgery. This study was a descriptive-correlational research. The statistical population consisted of cardiovascular patients who were candidates for heart surgery at heart centers in Isfahan city in 2024. Using a purposive and voluntary sampling method, 250 patients were selected. To collect data, the Family Assessment Device (FAD; Epstein et al., 1983), the Interpersonal Dependency Inventory (IDI; Hirschfeld et al., 1997), and the Hope Questionnaire (LEQ; Snyder, 2002) were used. Data analysis was conducted using simultaneous regression analysis. The results of the regression analysis indicated a significant relationship between family functioning, interpersonal dependency, and hope (p < 0.05). Approximately 12.4% of the variance in problem-solving could be predicted by interpersonal dependency and hope (p < 0.05). The findings of this study highlight the importance of psychological factors such as hope and interpersonal dependency in enhancing the problem-solving ability of patients who are candidates for open-heart surgery.
