Abstract: (464 Views)
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of compassion-focused acceptance and commitment group therapy (C-FACT) on distress tolerance and relational maintenance in women seeking divorce. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group with a three-month follow-up period. The statistical population of this study was women seeking divorce referred to counseling and psychological services centers in Bandar Abbas in 2025. 30 people were selected by convenience sampling and were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Both groups responded to the Distress Tolerance Scale (DTS; Simmons & Gaher, 2005) and Relational Maintenance Strategies Scale (RMSM; Stafford, 2011) at the beginning of the study, after treatment in the intervention group (during 10 90-minute sessions), and after three months. The data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance. The findings showed that there was a significant difference between the groups in the variables of distress tolerance and relational maintenance (P<0.05). Pairwise comparison results showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test with post-test and the follow-up scores of distress tolerance variables for maintaining the relationship (P<0.05). Overall, it can be concluded that C-FACT has had an effective role in increasing distress tolerance and relational maintenance in women seeking divorce over time.
