Abstract: (139 Views)
The aim of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy with emotion-focused couple therapy on sexual satisfaction of women with marital conflict. The research method was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group with a follow-up period (three months). The statistical population included women with marital conflict referring to the family counseling centers of the Tehran Welfare Organization in 2025, of which 45 people were selected purposively and randomly assigned to two experimental groups and a control group. The research instruments were Sanaei's Marital Conflicts Questionnaire (MCQ, 2000) and Hudson et al's Index of Sexual Satisfaction (ISS, 1981). The intervention of acceptance and commitment therapy and emotion-focused couple therapy was implemented in 8 90-minute sessions once a week as a group for the two experimental groups. The data were analyzed using mixed variance analysis. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the emotion-focused couple therapy group and the control group in post-test and follow-up sexual satisfaction (P<0.05), but this difference was not significant in the acceptance and commitment therapy and control group (P<0.05). The results showed that emotion-focused couple therapy was significantly more effective than acceptance and commitment therapy on the sexual satisfaction of women with marital conflicts, and a significant difference was observed between the two treatments (P<0.05). Therefore, emotion-focused couple therapy can be used to improve sexual satisfaction in women with marital conflicts as a supportive treatment.
