The present research aimed to determine The mediating role of Generalized Anxiety in the relationship between negative perfectionism and Academic Burnout in students. The research method was descriptive-correlational structural modeling. The statistical population for the research comprised students of Payame Noor University, International Center Of Assaluyeh, in the academic year of 2024-2025. In this study 234 people were selected by the availablez sampling method. To collect the data, Generalized anxiety disorder scale (GAD – 7; Spitzer et al., 2006), Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS; Frost and Marten., 1990) and Academic Burnout Scale (ABS; Breso et al., 2007) were used. Data analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling. The results showed optimal fit of the research model. Also, the findings showed that negative perfectionism and generalized Anxiety had a direct and significant effect on academic Burnout (P<0.05); Also, negative perfectionism had a direct and significant effect on generalized Anxiety (P<0.05). The results of the bootstrap test indicated that generalized Anxiety played a mediating role between negative perfectionism and Academic Burnout (P<0/05). The findings of the present research indicate that negative perfectionism has a direct effect on academic Burnout among students through the generalized Anxiety.
