Abstract: (176 Views)
The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Schema Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy on treatment motivation among individuals with stimulant use disorder. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group and a two-month follow-up was employed. The Subjects Included People with Substance abuse who referred to Residential Centers in Ahvaz in 2025. From this population, 45 participants were purposively selected and randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group (n=15 per group). The Stages of Change and Treatment Motivation Scale (SCRTE; Miller & Tonigan, 1996) was used to collect data. The first experimental group received 10 sessions of 45 minutes of Schema Therapy, while the second experimental group received 8 sessions of 45 minutes of MBCT. Data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Bonferroni post hoc tests. The Results Showed that pre-test Scores of Treatment motivation had a significant difference with pretest and Posttest Scores (P<0.05). The Results also showed that there was no Significant Difference Between the two Treatments over time (p>0.05), indicating the Effectiveness of Interventions on Treatment Motivation. In Conclusion, we can conclude that there is no Significant Difference Between Schema Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy on Increasing the motivation for drug abuse.
