Abstract: (51 Views)
The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of integrative behavioral couple therapy and schema-focused couple therapy on trust among women affected by marital infidelity. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group and a two-month follow-up period. The statistical population consisted of women affected by marital infidelity who attended Aramesh Counseling Center in Lahijan City in 2025. A total of 45 participants were selected through purposive sampling and were randomly assigned to three groups of 15 participants each. Data were collected using the Trust Scale (TS; Rempel et al., 1985). The first experimental group received integrative behavioral couple therapy, while the second experimental group received schema-focused couple therapy. Data were analyzed using repeated-measures analysis of variance. The results indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest mean scores of trust in the experimental and control groups (P < 0 .001). However, no significant difference was found between the posttest and follow-up scores (P > 0.05), indicating that the treatment effects were maintained during the follow-up period. Furthermore, no significant difference was observed between the two experimental groups (P > 0.05). Therefore, integrative behavioral couple therapy and schema-focused couple therapy demonstrated equal effectiveness in improving trust among women affected by marital infidelity, and both interventions can be considered effective therapeutic approaches.
