This study was conducted to investigate the impact of educational cartoons on the life skills of elementary school students in the city of Birjand. The research method was semi-experimental with pretest-posttest and control group. The study population included all the elementary school students in the city of Birjand in the academic year of 2014-2015. A sample of 60 subjects was selected by using cluster sampling method. Research tools included life skills questionnaire by Khodadadi (2011) and a series of educational cartoons broadcasted on IRIB Pooya TV channel, with the name of life skills. Analysis of covariance was used to measure the impact in experimental and intervention groups. The results of this study showed that there is a significant difference between life skills scores in the experimental and control groups. Also, the results showed that there was no significant difference between life skills scores in the experimental group and girls 'control, but there was a significant difference between the scales of life skills in the experimental group and the boys' control. Therefore, considering the importance of animation and educational cartoons and their influential role on individuals, it is suggested to apply this method to improve and to teach life skills.
