Depression is a common disorder in psychiatry. Depressed people are likely to have difficulty in adaptive behaviors and social interactions; like Mind Reading ability. The present study was a descriptive-correlation study and was performed on depressed patients and the healthy counterpart. Subjects were evaluated by RME and BDI-II. The findings showed that depression had a significant predictive role on Mind Reading ability. The negative interpretation of social stimulus is the cognitive characteristics of patients with depression. Providing the necessary education to families can be used to prevent some disorders and problems.
