The purpose of this study was to compare the attachment styles of internet addicts and normal students with ex post facto  method. The sample consisted of 200 students (100 internet addicts and 100 normal students) from Anzali students who were selected by cluster random sampling method. The instruments were Collins and Reid (1990), Kimberly Internet addiction inventory (1996). Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and independent t-test. Operations were performed using SPSS software version 20. Data analysis showed that the difference between safe attachment style in Internet addict students and normal students with F =(1.196) = 21.21, the difference between anxiety attachment style in Internet addicted students and knowledge Students with F(1.196) = 14.58 and the difference between the avoidant attachment style of Internet addicted students and normal students with F(1.196) = (5.97) were statistically significant (P 0/05) According to the findings of the study, internet addicts use an avoidant style (x = 17.59) and normal students with a safe (x= 18.39) and anxious style (x=18.71).  The results showed that addicted students had an avoidant attachment style and normal students had safe and anxious attachment styles. Therefore, according to the obtained results, students' attachment style may be affected by decreasing their tendency to addiction to the Internet.
