Obesity is one of the health problems in developing and advanced countries and is rising rapidly around the world at an alarming pace, especially in children and adolescents. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of eating styles and difficulty in regulating excitement with body mass index in obese students. For this purpose, a total of 240 people were selected from 632 students in the second grade high school students in Rasht, Iran, by cluster sampling. All samples responded to the Hyperthiss Difficulties Questionnaire (DERS) and the Diet Eating Scale (DEBQ) after calculating height, weight and BMI. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression method. The results indicated a significant relationship between body mass index and emotional and external eating styles, and difficulty in regulating excitement. The results of regression analysis also showed that 40.7% of the body mass index was based on eating styles and difficulty in regulating excitement. The findings of this study suggest that using eating styles and lack of management of emotional regulation, people use external and external eating behavior as a means to deal with problems and problems.
