Abstract:   (1566 Views)
Internet gaming disorder is explained as continuous and frequent use of the Internet in the gaming context, leading to significant distress and dysfunction. In the last two decades, many cognitive-behavioral and neurocognitive models have been proposed for general and specific internet use disorders. The interactive model (I-PACE), which integrates its predecessors, is designed explicitly for Internet-specific disorders, such as Internet gaming disorder. Research evidence supports the theoretical components of the I-PACE model. However, there is a gap in the research literature on integrating different therapeutic approaches with the I-PACE model. The present study, by reviewing the etiological models of Internet gaming disorder and emphasizing the interactive model, can pave the way for further studies in the prevention and treatment of Internet game disorder.
