Examining the Role of Mediating Spiritual Intelligence in the Relationship between Identity Styles and Emotional Intelligence in School Students of Bam City. Rooyesh 2018; 7 (8) :71-90

The aim of current study was to investigate the mediating role of spiritual intelligence in the relationship between identity styles (i.e. informational, normative, and avoidant) and emotional intelligence. The population consisted of all higher school students at Bam city. The sample included 200 students (100 girls, 100 boys) who were recruited through convenience sampling method. Research instruments were Identity Styles Scale, Spiritual Intelligence Scale, and Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The Results showed that there is a significant and positive relationship between informational and normative identity styles with spiritual and emotional intelligences, but there is no significant relationship between avoidant identity styles and those variables. Also, there is significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence. The results of structural equation analysis showed that spiritual intelligence mediated the relationship between informational and normative identity styles with emotional intelligence. Based on these results, it can be concluded that normative identity style and somewhat informational identity style can effect on adolescent's emotional intelligence through spiritual intelligence
