Abstract

The aim of the present study was to  investigate the relationship between five Factors of personality with state and trait anxiety. For this purpose  from all girls boarding school Sarvelayat (n=324)  about 200 student, were selected by random sampling ,That 88 students were studing in Junior high school and 112 students were studing in high school level. . In order to measuring personality and anxiety the student completed McCrae & Costa Personality Questionnaire (NEO) and Spielberger Anxiety Questionnaire (STAI). The data were analyzed by  Multivariable Regression and and t-test. The results showed that two Factors of personality : extroversion and conscientiousness can   predict  the  state and trait anxiety positively , and  neuroticism  predict  state and trait anxiety negatively , The Agreeableness  could not predict  state and trait anxiety. Also Openness Experience could not predict  state anxiety, but was a Meaningful and positive predictor of  trait anxiety. The result of t test showed that There was not a Meaningful difference between anxiety  of students in junior and high school  level.
