Abstract:   (543 Views)
This review has aimed to collect all the studies conducted on embodiment in patients with Depersonalization – De realization Disorder (DDD) since 2010. The present research is being done as a comprehensive scoping review. Searches are made in various databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. By searching keywords including embodiment, interoceptive signals, Depersonalization – De realization disorder, and review study, the number of potentially related articles was more than 700 titles. the criteria for selecting papers was approaching DDD with any embodied approach. After different levels of censorship using various checklists such as “Review Articles & Systematic Reviews” and “Checklist for Preparing and Evaluating Review Article”. However, only 10 of them were selected as significant enough to meet the inclusion criteria of the present study fully and determined for a detailed view and textual examination. It has been found that scientists have mostly concentrated on the idea of improper “interoceptive signals” as the main bodily mechanism underlying DDD. It has been found that some elements like preventing one from making proper reactions in situations that demand it, and also intentionally avoiding empathy with others, create incompatibility between a person’s conception of her presence in the situation and the signals she receives from inside.
