The main goal of this research is to compare the effectiveness of two parent training methods with Adlerian and behavioral approaches on the behavioral problems of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. In terms of the purpose, the present research is part of applied research and in terms of method, it is a semi-experimental type with a pre-test post-test design and a control group. The statistical population of the research was the parents of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in Tehran in 1402, from whom 60 people were selected as a sample and randomly placed in three groups of 20 people. The research tool included Rutter's children's behavioral questionnaire, (1964, RCBQ). After performing the pre-test in all three groups, the experimental groups underwent group training and intervention for 10 sessions, one session a week. then the amount of behavioral problems in both the experimental and control groups was re-examined. The results of multivariate covariance analysis showed that by controlling the effect of the pre-test, parent training, there is a significant difference the post-test average of the intervention groups (Adrelian and behavioral) and the control group (P<0/05). therefore parent training is effective on children's behavioral problems whether with an Adlerian approach or a behavioral approach. Also, the results of two Adlerian and behavioral experimental groups were not significantly different from each other (P>0/05). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that parent training with two Adlerian and behavioral approaches has the same effectiveness on the behavioral problems of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
