Abstract:   (101 Views)
The present study aimed to predict attitudes towards marriage based on perceived social support and emotion regulation in female students. The method of the present study was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of this study was all female undergraduate students at Shahid Beheshti University in 2022, from which 200 people were selected as samples using the available and non-random sampling method. The measurement tools included Gross and John's Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ, 2003), Brateen & Rosén's Marital Attitude Scale (MAS, 1988), and Zimet et al.'s Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS, 1988). Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the data. The findings of the study showed that perceived social support and emotion regulation were able to predict attitudes towards marriage (p<0.05) and explained 54.1% of the variance in attitudes towards marriage. Therefore, it can be concluded that perceived social support and emotion regulation play a significant role in predicting attitudes towards marriage, and it seems necessary to pay attention to these factors to increase positive attitudes towards marriage in female students.
