Abstract: (94 Views)
The present study aimed to evaluate the structural model of adolescent emotional and behavioral problems based on family emotional climate and self-compassion, with the mediating role of mental security. The current research was a descriptive-correlation type of structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the study was all female students in the first year of high school in Abyek city in the academic year 2023-2024. From among them, 360 people were selected as a sample using a two-stage cluster sampling method. The instruments of this study included the Achenbach Self-Report Scale (YSR, Achenbach, 1991), the Family Emotional Climate Questionnaire (FECQ, Hill Berne, 1964), the Self-Compassion Questionnaire (FPQ, Neff, 2003), and the Psychological Security Questionnaire (PSQ, Maslow, 2004). The analysis method of this research was structural equation modeling. The results of the structural equation analysis indicated the appropriate fit of the model. Other research findings showed that the variables of family emotional climate and self-compassion have a direct and significant effect on decreasing adolescents' emotional and behavioral problems (P<0.05). Also, the indirect effect of psychological security on the relationship between family emotional climate and self-compassion and emotional and behavioral problems was significant (P<0.05). Therefore, teaching the components of self-compassion and strengthening the family emotional climate, while keeping psychological Security in mind, can reduce emotional and behavioral problems in adolescents.
