Abstract: (30 Views)
The present study was conducted with the aim of developing and validating the Marital Hardiness Questionnaire (MHQ). This was a descriptive survey study. This research was conducted in the statistical population of married women in Bandar Abbas in 2024. In this research, 300 people participated in an online survey using convenience sampling and answered the questions of the questionnaires. To collect data, the researcher-made Marital Hardiness Questionnaire (MHQ), the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21; Lavibond & Lavibond, 1995), and the Connor & Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC; Connor & Davidson, 2003) were used. Validity was performed using face, content, criterion, and construct methods using confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability was performed using the internal consistency method by calculating the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The findings showed that the MHQ had desirable face and content validity according to the opinion of 7 psychology and counseling experts. Also, the results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the MHQ had desirable fit as a three factor. In addition, the results of criterion validity showed that the marital toughness questionnaire had a positive relationship with resilience and a negative and significant relationship with psychological distress (depression, anxiety, and stress) (P<0.05). Reliability using the internal consistency method was calculated by calculating the Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the entire questionnaire to be 0.91. In total, it can be concluded that the MHQ has desirable validity and reliability in the Iranian sample.
