This study aimed to compare Psychological Stress, Personality Traits and Alexithymia in People with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Normal People. The research method was a causal-comparative. The statistical population of the study included all people with inflammatory bowel disease who had referred to the Gastroenterology and Liver Research Institute of Shariati Hospital within a period of 0-6 months, and the non-infected population included people who were matched with the infected group according to the variables of age, gender, and marital status. Among them, 160 people (80 people with inflammatory bowel disease and 80 healthy people) were selected through purposive sampling.Research questionnaires included: Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (SPFQ -1949), Coudron Psychological Stress Questionnaire(CPSQ,-2009) and Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS -1994) questionnaire. multivariate analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there is significant difference between people with inflammatory bowel disease and healthy people in terms of nervous tension-relaxation, alexithymia, and psychological stress (P<0.001), and people with inflammatory bowel disease had higher levels of nervous tension, alexithymia, and psychological stress compared to healthy people.
