Abstract: (31 Views)
This study aimed to investigate the role of borderline personality disorder symptoms, object relations, and alexithymia in predicting marital burnout. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population included couples referring to counseling and psychology centers in Shiraz in 2025. 250 people were selected through convenience sampling and responded to the Pines Marital Burnout Inventory (CBM, 1996), Leichsenring Borderline Personality Inventory (BPI, 1999), Bell Object Relations Inventory (BORI, 1995), and Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS, 1994). Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The findings showed that borderline personality disorder symptoms, object relations, and alexithymia are positive and significant predictors of marital burnout (p<0.001). Also, symptoms of borderline personality disorder, object relations, and alexithymia explain a total of 62% of marital burnout scores. These findings indicate that the interaction between personality and emotional constructs, including borderline personality disorder symptoms, object relation patterns, and alexithymia, plays a decisive role in explaining the process of marital burnout.
