Abstract: (1212 Views)
The aim of this study was to identify the role of teachers in students' academic adjustment during coronavirus outbreaks. The present study was conducted qualitatively and with a descriptive phenomenological method. Participants in this study were 11 male elementary school students (fifth grade) in the 18th district of Tehran in autumn 2020. Participants were selected based on inclusion criteria using the purposive sampling method and sampling was continued until data saturation. The data collection tool in this study was a semi-structured interview and the Colaizzi's method was used to analyze the data. Findings from data analysis led to the extraction of three main themes, which included the following themes: educational support, behavioral support, and psychological support. The results of this study indicate the importance of the teacher's role in students' academic adjustment during epidemics, including Covid-19; Teachers and other teaching staff can use the findings of this study to apply methods for better student adaptation. |
