The present study was conducted to investigate the mediating role of mindfulness in predicting eating disorders based on social anxiety. The research method was descriptive-correlation and structural equation modeling. The statistical population was all the students of Qom Islamic Azad University in 1401, and 200 of them were selected as a sample. The research tools included the social anxiety questionnaires of Connor et al. (SPI), 2000), the Freiburg Mindfulness Questionnaire (FMI-SF, 2001), and the diagnostic questionnaire for eating disorders (EDDS et al., 2001). Finally, the structural equation analysis method was used for data analysis. The findings showed that the model has a suitable brush. There is a positive and significant relationship between social anxiety and components of bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder in students (p<0.01). However, no significant relationship was observed between social anxiety and the component of anorexia nervosa in students (p<0.05). Also, there was a negative and significant relationship between the components of fear, avoidance, physiological discomfort, social anxiety, and mindfulness in students (p<0.01). However, there was no significant relationship between mindfulness and components of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder in students (p<0.05). Also, the results of the path analysis showed that mindfulness does not play a mediating role in the relationship between social anxiety and eating disorders of Qom Azad University students. The research findings showed that mindfulness did not play a mediating role between social anxiety and eating disorders.
