The present study was conducted with the aim of Predicting the quality of marital relationships in women and men with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder based on marital procrastination and emotional impulsivity. The research method was descriptive-correlation. To achieve this goal, among married women and men referred to psychiatric clinics in District 1 of Tehran who received definite ADHD diagnoses from late April to mid-July, 2024, 119 people were included in the study using a convenience sampling method. The selected subjects were then tested by using the Marital Procrastination Questionnaire (MPQ, Ghorbaninejad, 2012), the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS, Patton etal, 1995), and Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS, Busby etal, 1995). The findings of the multiple regression analysis indicated that marital procrastination (P=0.001, β=-0.489) was the strongest predictor, and motor impulsivity (P=0.001, β= -0.274) and lack of planning (P=0.198, β=-0.198) were also significant predictors of marital relationship quality. Moreover, the results showed that the predictor variables were able to explain 43% of the variance in marital relationship quality (P<0.05). Therefore, the findings of the present study suggest that attention to marital procrastination and emotional impulsivity (lack of planning, motor impulsivity) by couple therapists can contribute to explaining the quality of marital relationships in men and women with ADHD.
