Abstract: (209 Views)
The present study aimed to predict the desire for divorce based on cognitive flexibility mediated by distress tolerance in women applicant divorce. The present study method was descriptive-correlational structural equation modeling. The statistical population included women applicant divorce referring to counseling centers in Arak in the spring of 2025, from which 250 people were selected as samples using purposive sampling. Data were collected using Rusbult et al's Divorce Tendency Scale (DTS, 1986), Simons & Gaher's Distress Tolerance Scale (DTS, 2005), and Dennis & Vander Wal's Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (CFI, 2010). The obtained data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Based on the research findings, the proposed model had a good fit. The results showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between cognitive flexibility and distress tolerance with the desire for divorce (P<0.01). It was also determined that distress tolerance has a mediating role in the relationship between cognitive flexibility and the desire for divorce (P<0.01). Therefore, it is suggested that cognitive flexibility and distress tolerance be examined and evaluated in the implementation of divorce prevention programs.
