Abstract: (191 Views)
The present study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on anxiety control and social loneliness among single-parent students. The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest–posttest design and a control group. The statistical population included single-parent male students in the first grade of secondary school in Khorramabad during the 2025–2026 academic year. From this population, 30 students were selected through convenience sampling and then randomly assigned to the experimental (15 students) and control (15 students) groups. Data were collected using the Anxiety Control Questionnaire by Rapee et al. (1996, ACQ) and the Social Loneliness Scale by Besharat (2013, SLS). The results of multivariate analysis of covariance showed that, after controlling for the pretest effect, there was a significant difference at the 0.01 level between the posttest means of anxiety control and social loneliness in the experimental and control groups. Therefore, it can be concluded that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an effective method for improving anxiety control and reducing social loneliness among single-parent male students in the first grade of secondary school in Khorramabad.
