The present study aimed to predict the sensitivity to rejection based on the personality types of introversion and extroversion and basic psychological needs of active users of social networks. The research method was descriptive-correlational regression analysis. The statistical population was social network users in Qom province in 1404 who were active on their virtual page profiles at least twice a week. 200 people were selected using the convenience sampling method and completed the questionnaire. The instruments of this study included the Rejection Sensitivity Scale (RSQ, Downey and Feldman, 1996), the Introverted and Extraverted Personality Type Questionnaire (EPQ, Eysenck, 1985), and the Basic Psychological Needs Questionnaire (BNSG-S, Deci and Ryan, 2000). The data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation test and multiple regression. The findings showed that extraversion has a positive and significant relationship with rejection sensitivity, while introversion has a negative and significant relationship with rejection sensitivity (p<0.001). In contrast, basic psychological needs did not show a significant effect on rejection sensitivity. These results indicate that the personality types of introversion and extraversion can explain rejection sensitivity in active social media users, and it is necessary to pay attention to these factors in their interaction with each other in interventions related to active social media users.
